NervOS is a shell replacement created for the PSP, and for PSP-Hacks Homebrew Coding Contest 2008 by Pirata Nervo. The shell was intended as a continuation from IRShell after Ahman left the scene and the project behind. The latest update, 2.0.5 has been released on May 31, 2008.

Features
NervOS has a lot of mainstream features from IRShell that includes UMD/ISO loading, Homebrew game play, music file playback and a lot of other things included as well.
UMD/ISO Playback
Unlike IRShell, NervOS can play ISO and UMD files without the need of any patches. If any patch is needed, it will be installed to flash1 without the need of any user intervention, except during the install. As of version 2.0, support for the M33 Driver, and Sony NP9660 has been added. OE Isofs Legacy was removed on 2.0.
File Browser
The File Browser is implemented into NervOS when browisng for ISOs, music files, etc.
NervOS Configuration
Like IRShell, users can configure NervOS to their liking deciding which ISO loader to use among other things.
User System
With the release of version 2.0, a user system is added where different users can manage their own account on NervOS similar to a computer. User accounts are managed from flash1, and as many as 3 accounts can be added or deleted as necessary. All accounts are password-protected and must be inputted at startup.
Flash1 usage
Originally, NervOS was planned to use both flash0 and flash1 as memory for storage files for settings, user accounts, etc. However, Pirata Nervo has decided to only use flash1 for storage. Not only does this save space on the memory stick, users now have a more advanced way to manage files without accidental deletion.
Text Editor
NervOS can edit .txt files from within the system. Input is used by a virtual keyboard.
