Life With PlayStation

On 26 June, 2008, Chief Executive of Sony Computer Entertainment, Kaz Hirai, announced Life With PlayStation for the PlayStation 3 via the PlayStation Network. The service displays a 3D Earth which the user can rotate the view and zoom in to access weather and news headlines for locations around the world. The user is then able to select any headline to view the full article.

At E3 2008, Head of SCEA, Jack Tretton announced that a new partnership between Sony and Google which will allow users to upload video content to YouTube from within games. This is also part of the Life With PlayStation service which was scheduled to be available by the end of July 2008, but is now due to be released in August 2008.
